Get Dance-Ready From Home

At-Home Prep for a Strong Return to the Studio

As we prepare to head back into the studio, now is the perfect time to begin taking care of our bodies at home. Dance doesn’t start when class begins, it starts with how we move, stretch, and strengthen every day. A little consistency now will help dancers feel confident, energised, and ready when we’re back on the floor.

Here are a few simple ways to stay dance-ready at home:

✨ Stretch Daily
Gentle stretching helps maintain flexibility and prevent injury. Focus on calves, hamstrings, hips, hip flexors, shoulders, and backs. Remember: stretches should never hurt, slow and steady is best!

✨ Build Strength
Core strength is essential for balance, control, and technique. Try exercises like planks, bridges, wall sits, and slow relevés. Even 10–15 minutes a few times a week makes a big difference.

✨ Keep Moving
Dancers don’t need a full workout to stay active. Light cardio such as walking, swimming, biking, or dancing around the house keeps stamina up and bodies warm.

✨ Practice Basics
Simple movements go a long way. Tendus, pliés, balances, posture checks, and foot articulation can all be practiced safely at home in a small space.

✨ Rest & Recover
Rest is just as important as training. Stay hydrated, eat nourishing foods, and get plenty of sleep to help muscles recover and grow stronger.

By building these habits now, dancers will return to class feeling prepared, confident, and excited to dance. We can’t wait to see all the hard work pay off in the studio soon!

Keep moving, keep stretching, and remember
Dance starts at home!

We hope you’re enjoying these school holidays, see you soon!
