Five Ways to Help Maintain Flexibility

Are you looking for ways to keep flexible throughout the whole year? Read on for five tips to help maintain flexibility.

Having flexible muscles can help with preventing injury, less soreness after rehearsals and improved posture.

  1. Take small steps. Especially if you haven’t been stretching lately, start with simple and achievable stretches you know from your dance classes.
  2. Do a little bit but do it consistently. Start with just a few stretches at a certain time of day that suits you best, whether it be first thing in the morning, or before bed – just try to build a habit of it.
  3. Stretch with a buddy – whether it be your sibling, parent or your friend. You can even do it over video call if you don’t live nearby your stretching buddy.
  4. Write some goals for yourself and check off the goals as you go. It can feel great to see how much you’ve improved over time if you stick with it.
  5. Take photos of your progress every couple of weeks! You can even tag @dancefactor so we can see how you’re going with your stretching too.

We offer dance classes in all styles of dance with options for any age and ability. If you are interested in enrolling or trialling a class or have any general enquiries contact info@dancefactor.com.au.
