Dance Classes Can Improve Heart Health

Dance is a great exercise for supporting or improving cardiovascular health. People of any age and ability can reap the benefits of dance. 

An Australian study pooled data from 48 000 people found that moderate intensity dancing was linked to a lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease. 

  • Dancers were found to have a 46% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular causes compared with those who never danced.
  • The study also suggested the social side of dance and the decrease in stress provided by dancing could be partially responsible for its benefits.

Dance can be an excellent option for any parent wanting to encourage their child to participate in an after school activity shown to decrease stress levels.
