Jazz is a fun and active style of dance, combining technique and personality. The style involves learning how to execute turns, kicks, leaps and jumps, as well as learning to dance to different rhythms.

Tap is an energetic and performative style involving learning to work with rhythm and beats in music. We follow the Glenn Wood Syllabus to provide a great foundation for tap technique for our students.

Ballet is the foundational style for all forms of dance. We use the ATOD Classical Syllabus guidelines to provide foundational technique, which focuses on teaching safe dance practices and promoting gracefulness in movement.

Lyrical and Contemporary styles involve technique and precision as well as allow students to express their personalities through movement. These styles aim to improve quality of movement, expression on stage, and improve turns and leaps specific to contemporary and modern styles.

Hip Hop is a strong and active style of dance encompassing different influences of street dance, break dance, popping and many more different styles of Hip Hop. This fun and lively style involves confidence and power.

Any form of active wear will be suitable for their first lessons.
Ready Set Dance / Ballet
For your child’s first lesson at READY SET DANCE & READY SET BALLET your child can wear any comfortable clothing which is appropriate for physical activity. Once you have decided that your child loves READY SET DANCE & READY SET BALLET and is enrolled in the classes the official READY SET DANCE uniforms are a requirement for the class and can be purchased at the studio all year round.
Uniforms are only compulsory for competitive dancers, however we are proud to offer a range of dance wear that is appropriate for all dancers and classes. It is important for our dancers to wear safe and appropriate dance/active wear and footwear to each class they have chosen to participate in. Casual clothing or school uniforms are not appropriate for our dance and acro classes.
Ballet
It is compulsory for ballet students to wear a leotard to each class. Hair must also be up in a bun.
Acro
As acro requires hands on spotting, fitted clothing is preferred for acro classes for the safety of both dancers and their teachers.
Ready Set Dance / Ballet
Once your child is enrolled in the classes the official READY SET DANCE uniforms are a requirement for the class and can be purchased at the studio all year round.
If you miss a lesson, you are welcome to come along to another class with the appropriate age and ability so you don’t miss out for that week! Please contact our admin staff to organise this.
