5 Ways Dance Supports Childrens’ Bone Health
Did you know dancers may have stronger bones than non-dancers?
According to a study weight bearing exercise while growing can “enhance peak bone mass”.
The study compared ballet dancers and regular children over three years. At the beginning of the study the dancers and children were aged 8 and at the end they were aged 11.
Over time, the ballet dancers showed significantly greater bone mineral content than the non-dancers.
Dance in all forms can be super helpful in building strength in the muscles and ultimately protecting the bones.
